WHAT: 5K run/walk, a live band and raffle items.
WHY: Hunt for a Cure-CJD was founded by Rhonda Fansler in loving memory of her husband Jon Fansler who passed away from CJD September 2012. The event directly benefits the Awareness and Research for CJD.
Our Organization’s mission statement: Hunt for a Cure-CJD is committed to raising awareness of Crueztzfeldt-Jakob Disease as well as funds for research, treatment and ultimately a cure for this fatal disease.
Cruetzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) is a rare and rapidly progressive neurodegenerative brain disorder. The incidence of CJD cases worldwide is one case, per million, per population. Eighty-five percent of the cases are sporadic, meaning there is no known cause at present. Currently there is no treatment or cure and is always fatal.
