Only for the crazies, the 8-hour Dream Endurance race and Cat Nap 5K is Central Indiana’s only endurance event. Close to 600 participants from all over the US participated last year with over 160 of the SOLO finishers logged more than a marathon (26.2) distance. The cheers and excitement at the finish will never be forgotten. 2024 had over 50 teams registered!
The Butler University course makes for a special day. Tent Village is located outside Hinkle Fieldhouse’s front lawn with the course taking runners around the Butler Bowl to the Indianapolis Tow Path, through park trails, by Holcomb Garden and back to Hinkle Fieldhouse. There will again be a long and short course for strategy. The exciting team competition will return as well. For those wanting to accomplish a marathon, we will recommend the number of long course and short course laps to reach the 26.2 mile distance.
Participants will see how far they can run during the 8-hour limit. The event starts at 10:00 AM and runners will run through 6:00 PM with a cookout immediately following. Awards will be at 7:00 PM. All solo finishers will receive a belt buckle and team runners will receive a medal. Top three solo men’s and women’s will compete for a cash purse.
Participants will have full access to showers throughout the race at HRC. Individual 10×10 tents are allowed along both sides of the course at the start/finish line. Location of each tent will be assigned by event based on date of registration. Teams are permitted to have tents as well.
CAT NAP 5K: The Cat Nappers run their 5K at 10 AM starting with The Dream. The SOLO field has sold out the last five years.
