We have partnered with Changing Footprints to collect shoes! Bring your shoes to packet pick up or race morning to donate them to a great cause! Changing Footprints realizes the great need for shoes around the world as protection from diseases and a gateway to education. Because of that need, they collect new and gently used shoes for distribution to homeless, disaster-stricken, or underprivileged people locally, nationally, and internationally regardless of race, religion, gender, or ethnicity.
The proceeds of the 2024 Beck’s 5K will go to Safe Haven Baby Boxes and We Care for Orphans Adoption Fund.
Safe Haven Baby Boxes mission is to prevent illegal abandonment of newborns by raising awareness, offering a 24-hour hotline for mothers in crisis and offering the Safe Haven Baby Boxes as a last resort option for women who want to maintain complete anonymity. The Safe Haven Baby Box takes the face-to-face interaction out of the surrender and protects the mother from being seen. Women in crisis can call the national 24-hour hotline and can receive counseling and assistance free of charge. Safe Haven Baby Boxes has referred over 500 women to crisis pregnancy centers, assisted in 9 adoption referrals, and have had over 140 legal Safe Haven surrenders. There are Safe Haven Baby Boxes in Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, Iowa, Missouri, and West Virginia.
After the adoption of their youngest daughter, Jadyn, Scott and Shantel Beck recognized the financial gap that often exists between families pursuing adoption and those able to carry that desire to fruition. We Care for Orphans Adoption Fund was established in 2011 with the mission to provide matching grants or interest-free loans ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 to Christian couples in the adoption process. Since 2012, this fund has supported 417 families, and over 465 children, with fifty of those families residing in the State of Indiana!
