Broncho Heritage Challenge Trail Race

Broncho Heritage Challenge is Lafayette’s first and only ultra-race. A race that we created for runners by runners. Five long time Cross Country and Track coaches of Lafayette Jefferson High School direct the Challenge. The Broncho Heritage Challenge is a 10k trail course (out and back) along the Wabash River Heritage Trail from McAllister Park to Davis Ferry Park. The tree-canopied trail with a nice gentle breeze off the Wabash River allows for a perfect summer race. The course is flat, scenic, packed dirt, and a small section of sand. We offer a 10k (6.2 miles – 1 loop) option for those who want to run fast! A 30k (18.6 miles – 3 loop) option for those who want go little over the half marathon distance or needing a training run for a fall marathon PR! In addition, a 50k (31 miles – 5 loops) for those who think a marathon is just not enough for them! Being coaches, we also wanted to bring a team aspect to this race. Therefore, we are offering a 30k team relay race of (2-3 runners) and a 50k team relay race of (2-5 runners). Having trouble finding 5 people to run, but you have that one friend who is wired differently? Then let them run the course 2x or 3x!
