For the fifth consecutive year, our Iron Eagle Paddle & Run fundraiser is set for Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Eagle Creek Park’s Beach! This adventure race is motivated by our desire to raise funds for the betterment of Eagle Creek Park (100% of proceeds benefit the Foundation!). The race is open to all ages. Solo and 2-person teams are all welcome!
Please join us for a tour of one of the nation’s largest city parks while catching a glimpse of the park’s wonderful scenery. Competitors have the option to bring their own kayak or canoe, or rent a boat in advance through Eagle Creek Outfitters. All participants bringing their own water craft are required to bring a PFD (personal flotation device), otherwise known as a life jacket.
Distances:
Trail Run – 2.5 mi
Paddle – 1.5 mi
Trail Run – 2.5 mi
The course is set up similar to a triathlon with a transition area where you can stage your gear for each leg.
Boat Rentals (book in advance): https://secure.getmeregistered.com/get_information.php?event_id=126705
All Eagle Creek Park Foundation members receive $10 off race entry. Email Sam at ecpf@eaglecreekpark.org to retrieve your race registration code. Visit http://eaglecreekpark.org to become a Foundation member.
***Dogs are not allowed this year. We love them, but the trails are not wide enough.
Important race changes for 2017!
Please note that we will use a different course this year. The race will start and end at the beach, as it has for the past two years. The paddle portion of the race will begin and end at the Marina (in the past, this took place at the beach).
This is a much better location for launching the watercraft.
Check in / boat drop off will take place at the Marina between 6:30am and 7:30am
The race will begin at the beach area at 8:00 am.
This is a Fun-Races Sponsored Event
