KIND: A LUTHERAN CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES WALK/RUN/BIKE EVENT

May 22, 2021 @ 8:30 am EDT

Kind is a Walk/Run/Bike event hosted by The Foundation for Lutheran Child and Family Services. The event will be held on May 22, 2021 at White River State Park, Indianapolis.

The trail will be a 2 mile course for those walking and a 5K for those choosing to run or bike. The Walk is designed to be a non-competitive experience suitable for people of all ages and families are welcome to participate.

The Bike/Run is an untimed “friendly competition” with gifts awarded to the top 10 finishers from each group.

Kind will be raising funds to support the Pando Aspen Grove of Community Heights (Pando) Permanent Supportive Housing Program which is currently under construction and scheduled to be opening in Summer 2021.

Once completed, the program will have 30 one-bedroom apartments to serve youth ages 18-24 who have experienced homelessness, with a special focus on youth aging out of the foster care/child welfare system.

The program will include an on-site food pantry, as well as voluntary supportive services to connect youth with educational and employment resources, healthcare, and legal aid, as well as helping them connect with others in the community to build “social capital”.
