We look forward to you joining us in person or virtually for the 8th Annual Megan Hammerle Memorial 5K. This event honors the life of Megan Hammerle, a 2014 graduate of Lebanon High School who loved running….especially on cross country courses!
Megan was a freshman at DePauw University when she died on February 13, 2015 from a rare form of meningitis. Her high school friends came together to host the inaugural Megan 5K raising over $10,000 for a scholarship in Megan’s name.
With the scholarship fund fully endowed, the Hammerle family made the decision to partner with Boone County Mentoring Partnership (BCMP) with all proceeds going to support their mission of connecting youth with positive encouraging adult volunteer mentors and resources to help them realize their dreams and potential. 2021 was the first year BCMP assumed the leadership and organization of the event, and the organization will continue to respect and honor Megan’s incredible life with the event.
