5K run and fitness walk, 9 a.m. start
Join us for a quiet morning in the country and the 4th Annual “Run for the Rescue” to raise funds both for the Peacefield horses and awareness of the issue of unwanted, abused and neglected horses in the Wabash Valley! The out-and-back course: The race begins & ends at Peacefield (9811 East Davis Ave. Terre Haute, IN 47805). Runners and walkers will head west on Davis to Main, then south on Main to Grotto, turn around past the Vigo County Conservation Club (corner of Grotto and Randall), then head back to the finish at Peacefield. Water will be available at the turn-around area. All kilometers are marked on the course.
Registration: Pre-registration is highly recommended to receive a discounted entry and tee shirt. Entries may be done online, or mailed to Run for the Rescue, 5046 N. Miami Gardens St., Brazil, IN 47834. Pre-registration closes at 6 pm on April 14. Make checks payable to: Peacefield Equine Sanctuary. Race day registration & packet pickup for pre-registrants will be held from 8:00-8:45 a.m. at the rescue.
Prizes: All entrants will receive a goody bag and post-race refreshments donated by our generous sponsors. Awards will be presented ASAP after the race to top male and female finishers in 7 age categories in the run. No awards for walk, but entrants are eligible for prize drawings during award ceremony. T-shirts (adult sizes only) are given to all pre-registered entrants and while supplies last to race day entrants. All entrants are eligible for prize drawings.

NEW THIS YEAR – free kids (8&under) 200 yd “steeplechase” follows 5k! No bags or tees, just a fun run in the pasture, weather permitting.
