Let’s MIX IT UP a little! We’ve infused a classic 5k with some fitnessing!
Fitnessing – “verb” – the act of doing any form of fitness you enjoy! Generally moving your body with the goal of health and having a good time. Can also be used in past tense, “Have you Fitnessed today?”
Each athlete will complete a 5k split into running sections divided by various fitness tests! All fitness movements are meant to be VERY accessible to all fitness levels. The “Competitive” division will have set weights, box heights, etc for men and women. The “Here for a Good Time” division will allow athletes to chose the weights, heights and movement scales that work best for them throughout the event! Participants may run or walk or any combination of the two for the distance of the 5k.
Participants will start in heats of 3-5 staggered by 3 minutes (this is the plan, but may be adjusted based on the number of participants+volunteers we get! Final heats will be released on the Wednesday prior to the event)
Athletes will receive an ‘Fittest 5k’ tank (mens and women’s options)! MUST REGISTER BY AUGUST 10th to be guaranteed a shirt!
